Meeting with the Head of the Izhevsk City Municipality

A working meeting was held between Igor Valeryevich Shipitsyn, head of the KABS Consulting company, Grigory Vladimirovich Strelkov, Chairman of the Regional Employers' Association OPORA SME UR, with the Head of Izhevsk Dmitry Alexandrovich Chistyakov, First Deputy Head Evgeny Dmitrievich Hafizov and a representative of the business community, CEO of Siddham Industries (Republic of India) Bakshi Sharad Kumar.

A wide range of issues related to the development of socio-economic development of the city, investments, entrepreneurship, the implementation of a number of measures to reduce the level of informal employment and increase the revenue side of the city budget, reduce the level of shortage of labor resources at enterprises are considered. ​

The issues of urban development are inextricably linked with the implementation of investment projects, the improvement of the urban area and the attraction of labor resources. The representative from India noted the readiness of Indian business to participate in joint projects for the development of the urban economy of the city of Izhevsk. One of the forms of joint participation may be the strengthening of international cooperative ties.To do this, it is necessary to take a number of measures to strengthen trust between our countries and peoples.

One of the measures to build confidence and attract investment can be a twinning agreement between the capital of Udmurtia and the capital of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, the city of Dehradun, whose population today is more than 1 million people. The Indian side is interested in training students in higher educational institutions of the city of Izhevsk, especially in medical specialties. When creating certain conditions after graduation, Indian students are not against making up for the lack of specialists in the city's enterprises and medical institutions.

During the working meeting, issues related to the shortage of labor resources at the city's enterprises and the decline in informal employment were discussed. The ways of solving this issue by expanding international relations and attracting labor resources from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka are proposed. The representative of Siddham Industries, in turn, expressed readiness to assist in attracting labor from India, organizing business and cultural cooperation between the Udmurt Republic and the Republic of India.
